Trim Video
Keep just the part you need — processed on your own device.
🔒 Files never leave your deviceWhat this tool does
This tool cuts out the part of a video you need and saves it as MP4. Use it to keep just the key part of a lecture or meeting recording, or to shorten a long video for social media. It runs ffmpeg compiled for the browser (ffmpeg.wasm), so everything happens on your own device without installing anything. Fast keeps the original quality and finishes in seconds; Exact cuts precisely where you set it.
How to use
- Add the video you want to trim.
- Play it and click 'Set start here' and 'Set end here' — or type the times in seconds.
- Choose Fast or Exact and click 'Trim' to get an MP4.
FAQ
What's the difference between Fast and Exact?
Fast cuts without re-encoding, so it finishes in seconds at the original quality — but it can only cut at keyframes, so the clip may start a little early (usually within a few seconds). Exact re-encodes the video so it starts right where you set it, but it takes much longer.
Is there a watermark?
No.
Is my video uploaded?
No. Trimming happens in your browser.
Why does the first run take longer?
The first time, your browser downloads the video engine (about 9 MB, roughly 32 MB unpacked). After that it's cached and starts right away.
Can I trim large videos?
The original isn't loaded into memory all at once — in our test, a 10-second clip from a 2 GB video was cut in a few seconds. But if the trimmed result itself is over about 1 GB, it may fail when memory runs out.
Tips
- Pause at the moment you want and click 'Set start here', then use 'Preview clip' to check before trimming.
- If a Fast trim starts a bit early, trim again with Exact.
- Formats your browser can't preview, like AVI, can still be trimmed — just type the start and end in seconds.
