Extract Text from Images

Turn text in screenshots and photos into text you can copy.

🔒 Files never leave your device

What this tool does

This tool reads the text in a photo or screenshot and turns it into text you can copy and edit (OCR). Use it to grab sentences from a picture of a book or notice, or to move chat screenshots into a document without retyping. It reads Korean and English together, and you can copy the result or save it as a .txt file. Recognition runs inside your browser, so your image is never uploaded.

How to use

  1. Choose the language of the text (default: Korean + English).
  2. Upload a photo or screenshot, or paste it with Ctrl+V.
  3. Check the result, fix any mistakes, then copy it or save it as .txt.

FAQ

Why is the first run slow?

The first time, your browser downloads the OCR engine and language data — about 6 MB for Korean + English. The language data is kept in your browser, so later runs are much faster.

How accurate is it?

Clean, straight text like screenshots reads quite well. Handwriting, very small text, tilted or blurry photos, and text on busy backgrounds often come out wrong. Always read the result over before using it.

Does it work with PDFs?

Images only for now (JPG, PNG, WEBP, etc.). Convert a PDF with 'PDF to JPG' first, then upload the images.

Is my image uploaded?

No. Text recognition runs inside your browser and your image is never sent anywhere.

Line breaks and spacing don't match the original.

Lines break where they do in the image, and spaces are sometimes missed or added. Fix them in the result box before copying.
